Independent Review

In 2009, the GIO Board of Directors commissioned an independent review of GIO’s governance and operations. An independent review is called for in the Framework for Collaboration, a set of guidelines followed by GIO and the other financial service ombudservices. Click here to view the Framework.
 
The independent review was conducted by LS&A, whose principal, Lawrie Savage, is a former Superintendent of Insurance and an international expert in the regulation and governance of general insurance.
 
LS&A delivered its report in May, 2009. The GIO Board of Directors adopted the report and has prepared responses to the report’s suggestions. Click here to review the full report and GIO’s responses.
